| Tired of fancy bars with intimate lighting that makes you squint, pretentious art on the walls and food dressed with various kinds of aoili? Bella's Sports Bar is your basic bar with TVs, a couple of pool tables, and lots of locals. During the various sports seasons, you'll find either Redskins flags or Ravens banners and then NASCAR™ or other holiday assortments. The wall behind the bar sports a giant Redskins' helmet on the mirror. The bar and dining area are simply separated which gives an open feel to the place. There's a fireplace with a picture of Bella Novosel (the bars Matriarch and Founder) and a big-screen TV in the dining area. Bella's has jukebox music from sunday through thursday and then on Friday's there are bands and some Saturdays, a Disc Jockey that also performs as a roving magician. The DJ is a true entertainer who sometimes sports his trumpet/flugelhorn and plays cool jazz or along with hip-hoppin' dance music and is a darn good singer in his own right. Saturday's night at Bella's and is a great time to bring your friends and have a smashing great time. The restaurant has plenty of seafood -- steamed lobsters, clams, crabs and mussels and fried oysters, shrimp and flounder are just a few offerings. Burgers and sandwiches are plentiful, and daily specials include hot beef and gravy, pork chops and fried chicken. |
